Grosmont and Goathland

Grosmont

We walked into Grosmont on day 11 of our Coast to Coast walk and took the train to Goathland (one stop) where we stayed the night. The train is part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, a steam heritage line. The Goathland train station has a bit of a buzz about it because it served as the Hogsmeade Station in the Harry Potter films. Goathland is also proud of the fact that the TV series Heartbeat was partially filmed there. Early in the morning before we were to start out the day’s hike I walked the town; there were no movie stars or film crews, only sheep busy tending the grass.
